Structural Engineers in Centennial, CO

Centennial is one of Colorado’s newest and hippest cities just 15 miles south of Denver. Formed in 2001, it’s now the state’s 12th largest city. With tons of things to do outdoors, quality schools, places to shop, and yummy eats, Centennial is awesome for families and young professionals.

If you’ll be visiting or relocating to Centennial, you’re in good shape. We made a list of top activities so you can start planning your adventures.

1. Enjoy the Great Outdoors at the Park

We have to start with the main draw – Centennial Center Park. As the first city-owned park, it’s a hot spot with 11 acres of fun. Folks can catch a performance at the amphitheater, entertain kids at the various playgrounds, or challenge their brains with trivia on the Viewfinder Walk.

There are also around 100 miles of trails throughout the city. You could make a game of trying to hike them all! And with sunny weather, Arapahoe County has tons more ways to enjoy the outdoors. Check out the many golf courses, batting cages, tennis courts, and more.

2. Shop ’til You Drop at Streets of SouthGlenn

For retail therapy, head to Streets of SouthGlenn. This swanky shopping center has a movie theater with restaurant and bar, all kinds of eateries, and enough stores to keep you browsing all day. Big name department shops, designer boutiques, specialty stores, cafes, bistros, and more span several blocks. There are also outdoor events in summer and holidays, like concerts on the lawn and tree lightings.

Nearby Centennial Promenade offers 50+ more stores and family entertainment like glow-in-the-dark mini golf.

3. Grab a Bite at a Highly-Rated Restaurant

Visiting a new place means sampling all the good eats. Centennial has lots of tasty dining options. Local favorites are Los Dos Potrillos, Farro Italian Restaurant, and Big Bill’s New York Pizza.

But that’s not all. There’s a wide variety of cuisines – Asian, seafood, breakfast spots, and more. And don’t forget the local breweries like Resolute Brewing Company and Halfpenny Brewing Company. Colorado produces the most craft beer of any state, with over 140 breweries in the Denver metro area alone!

4. Learn to Snowboard at Snöbahn

Though not connected to the mountains, you can still hit the slopes at this one-of-a-kind indoor ski and snowboard facility. Snöbahn welcomes all ages and abilities. Work with a trained instructor or dive right in. With no chairlift lines, you can fit about a full day of skiing into just one hour!

Snöbahn is ideal for hitting the slopes in town, but if you prefer real snow, Echo Mountain is the closest full ski resort about an hour away. Loveland, Arapahoe Basin, and Eldora are also around an hour drive with more terrain.

5. Golf Year-Round at Topgolf

Like Snöbahn, Topgolf is indoor golf entertainment for all ages. Topgolf has 3 levels with over 100 climate-controlled hitting bays so you can work on your swing anytime. Their website says each bay has HDTVs and you can use their clubs or bring your own. Dozens of games with varying difficulty use microchipped balls to track your scores.

Don’t miss the arcade with new and retro games either. There’s also a restaurant, bar, and rooftop terrace with fire pits – perfect for parties and fun.

6. Dive Into History at 17 Mile House Farm Park

A historic landmark, 17 Mile House is one of two remaining trail houses from the 1860s gold rush. It was a rest stop for pioneers traveling the wagon trails west. Visitors can tour the restored home, barn, silo, and milk house by appointment. The rest of the 32-acre farm is open dawn to dusk with picnic areas.

Whether visiting or moving to Centennial, there’s plenty to do nearby. But if you get bored, visit nearby Highlands Ranch, Arvada, or Aurora, for more fun exploring opportunities!
